![]() Before you book your next international vacation, I'd ask you do one thing: check your passport to make sure it hasn't expired AND make note of the expiration date as well. Passports are valid for up to 10 years; however, in the majority of cases, your passport must have six months of validity. In other words, six months past the last date of international travel. Many countries will require you to have that six months on your passport, or you'll set yourself up for being denied international travel. It's better to be safe than to get to the airport and be turned away from your dream vacation! If your expiration date is coming up real soon and either you have a trip scheduled or planning a trip, it might be a good idea to renew now! Right now, you can expect to wait between 10-12 weeks (or more in some cases) for routine passport processing. There are some avenues to expedite and these may take 4-6 weeks. There will be a fee to expedite. It's best to visit the State Department website for all of your information! Happy traveling!
